Are my images uploaded?
Image conversion, compression and editing are performed in your browser. Files are not uploaded to a FixImageFormat processing server.
Does AVIF really work?
Yes. When your browser cannot encode AVIF directly with Canvas, FixImageFormat uses a browser-side WebAssembly AVIF encoder. The resulting file is a real AVIF file.
Why didn't my PNG become much smaller?
PNG is lossless. Canvas PNG export does not have a normal quality setting like JPG, WEBP or AVIF. For photographs, WEBP or AVIF generally provides much smaller files.
What does Compress do?
Compress mode renders the image at the selected dimensions and re-encodes it using the selected output format and quality. WEBP, JPG and AVIF are especially effective for reducing photographic image sizes.
